EDUCATION, RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE NORTH ARE SIMPLY NOT EQUAL WITH THE SOUTH. IT IS NOT A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD.
Richard’s special guest this week is Jodie McNally.
Jodie has been supporting young people into meaningful career opportunities for over 12 years, particularly those with significant barriers to progression in the mainstream.
Following roles in colleges, education businesses partnerships and the national football charity Street League, Jodie was appointed as the Northern Hub Leader for the EY Foundation in 2017.
Jodie’s role is to inspire and engage young people who are at a disadvantage in the jobs market and help them to fulfil their potential for work.
In 2018, as a recognition for her growing influence and reach as a powerful role model for vulnerable young women in and around Manchester, Jodie was included on the coveted Northern Power Women Future List.
This conversation took place in April 2018, and Richard and Jodie talk about skills and gender, the future of work and the challenges and opportunities faced by young people today – as well as Jodie’s status as a garlanded role model and what that means for her personal mission.
