LOOKING AT OURSELVES AS ADULTS, A LOT OF MEN ARE UNPACKING WHAT WE’VE BEEN TAUGHT BY THE MEDIA. WE’RE TAKING OFF OUR ARMOUR.
Richard Freeman’s special guest is Alain Clapham.
Alain is more commonly known as Fusion, and is one of the most connected figureheads of London’s creative industries. The self-professed ‘Creative Storyteller’ has presented shows for MTV and Sky, hosted events at Wembley Arena, interviewed Beyoncé, Dr Dre and Stan Lee among others, and has delivered one of the must-see TED talks.
Alain’s focus is on creative transformation, in business thinking – but more immediately in young people – and his agency Industry In The Streets is committed to supporting the promotion of ethics, education and innovation in the entrepreneurialism and wider understanding of youth-led enterprise.
We caught up with Alain in late July 2018, and amongst other things, Richard chats with him about BMT – a new live experience to celebrate the ‘awesome everyday’ stories of black men – and why he feels that it is time to stop framing black male adult role models as either exceptional or criminal, but as something more wonderfully ordinary.
